El Programa de Salud Familiar Mayapán, una iniciativa de La Mujer Obrera, empieza este sábado 13 de octubre a las 11 a.m. en el Mercado Mayapán (2101 Myrtle Avenue, El Paso, TX 79901). El programa gratuito consiste de 9 talleres mensuales sobre prácticas de salud preventivas, culturales, y naturales para mejorar la salud de la familia. El tema del primer taller es ‘Alimentación y cuidado del cuerpo para el sistema inmune.’
Todos pueden atender los talleres, pero aquellas familias que inscriban al menos dos personas para participar en todas las sesiones y se comprometan a llenar una encuesta y monitoreo de salud periódicamente, podrán recibir cupones para verdura y fruta del Mayapan Farmers Market, regalos, boletines de información, y participar en rifas de objetos relacionados a los talleres.

The Mayapán Family Wellness Program, a project of La Mujer Obrera, begins this Saturday, October 13 at 11 a.m. at Mercado Mayapán, (2101 Myrtle Avenue, El Paso, TX 79901). The free program consists of nine monthly workshops featuring preventive, cultural, and natural health practices. The topic of the first workshop is ‘Nutrition and health tips for the immune system.’
Anyone can participate in the workshop, but families in which at least two family members register to participate in all nine sessions and periodically fill out a survey and participate in free health screenings will receive coupons for fruits and vegetables at the Mayapán Farmers Market, gifts, newsletters, and the opportunity to participate in raffles of objects related to the workshops.
